The past couple of days we had the cranes migrating north. It's the talk of the village, "Spring is here". When you are at the bakery everybody talks about it and asks one another if they saw or heard them. It really is a warming sight.
Tens of thousands of these large birds migrate from the south of Spain to Scandinavia. They make a stopover near an artificial lake east of Paris where they get fed (not that the French are birdlovers, they rather shoot them, but to avoid damage to farms). For birdwatchers a real treat.
